Architecture Studio was engaged to design two new purpose built factories and offices in Auckland and Christchurch for an established steel cutting factory business that had outgrown their existing premises on both parts of the country. Specialist plant machinery configuration had to designed to maximize production and efficiencies. Vertical steel supply racks were designed to minimize floor area usage. Open plan ground floor reception and offices were designed to provide an industrial feel with polished concrete floors and exposed steel and cantilevered concrete canopy. The meeting rooms had sound rated glass looking into the factory space so visitors could see the operation. Profile Cutting Services aims to provide an excellent workplace environment for their staff and high end staffroom facilities were added above the office annex with their own balcony and internal windows looking down into the factory space.
