Located on the busy dual lane State Highway 74, Main North Road, Christchurch, providing northern access to the City, Architecture Studio was engaged to design the refurbishment an existing builder’s merchant building constructed in the 1950’s. A new façade was designed and constructed to upgrade the old tired shop front, providing an eye catching high profile building. Subsequently this site has been redeveloped due to popular northern urban growth and the Northwood Super Centre. The building was dismantled, making way for the new retail development also designed by Architecture Studio.
